Col Dhirendra Kumar, Principal of Sainik School Kazhakootam, was posted out from the school after completing five years of distinguished service. The staff and cadets accorded him a grand farewell during a Special Assembly held on 29 July 2026. During the assembly, he was felicitated with a traditional ceremonial Ponnada by the new Principal, Col Abhishek Vohra. On the occasion, Col Dhirendra Kumar also released the school's new magazine and formally handed over its first copy to Col Abhishek Vohra.
